Firefox on my other PCs are instant (to google etc). If I open Firefox with no default page, and then do a google search (from the dedicate field), again often a loooooong delay. During this time, you can open up other websites immediately, but if you try .uk again, there is no activity for tens of seconds. So I've noticed recently on one of my PCs, when I open Firefox, if the homepage/opening page is set to google, it takes tens of second to load most of the time.
